Sri Lankan IP Teams Seek to Create a Spice Cooperative

Following the success of Sri Lanka's Home Agriculture Projects, the IP Teams are working on starting a cooperative of spice growers. We are in conversation with a US-based company about buying Sri Lankan spices and marketing them to chefs in the US. Most IP Teams that do Home Agriculture Projects are from the plantation sector, which means that they are among the lowest paid workers in the country. A spice cooperative able to sell products to the US market will significantly boost their income. Sri Lanka is famous for spices, especially cinnamon. In the picture is a young cinnamon plant.
