Accompaniment Circle -- Nigeria

January 9, 2025

8:00 a.m. (US/Canada Central Standard Time)

9:30 a.m.

The Nigerian Interfaith Peacemaker Teams are seeing the results of what happens with Muslims and Christians come together to build power and act on issues that arise from the ground-up. Gombe State was named the state with the lowest number of kidnappings in the past year. In a country with an epidemic of kidnappings and in a state adjoining Borno State (the epicenter of Boko Haram activity) this is a significant achievement.

The movement is spreading. In November, two hundred and thirty-two women gathered in Jalingo (Taraba State) and Kafanchan (Kaduna State) for trainings on Nigerian Women Lead. The events were organized by Soraya Deen together with Abare Kallah and Ruth Abner.

Hear about their successes, challenges and future plans. Learn from them about what might work in your own community, and stand in solidarity with their struggles. Please click the link to register. Zoom will send you a meeting link.
